Portrait Of A Flower

Drawing from floral symbolism and its place in cultural narratives, these works utilize flora as potent conduits for exploring a spectrum of human emotions, vices and impulses. Like the myths and stories within the collective consciousness, these botanical forms become signifiers for intimate human experiences.

This exhibition cultivates a space where the personal and the social intertwine, mirroring the fluid boundaries between our public and private lives, and our emotional and psychological states. It invites the viewer to interact with the environments artists create, both for themselves and in relation to others, using themes of interpersonal connection, love, and intimacy as points of departure.

Echoing Ralph Emerson's sentiment that "the Earth laughs in flowers," this body of work delves into the often-unspoken dialogue between our physical being and our emotional responses. Through the use of both humour and surprise, I offer a light-hearted approach while using powerful symbolism to draw attention to the embodied experience of the human condition.
